So here's Lock 1. Doesn't look like much from here, right up until a laker the length of two football fields slides through and you realize the whole thing was built to move that. This is where the climb starts, one lock at a time, all the way to Lake Erie. You're not walking the whole climb today. Head to Jones Beach and I'll meet you out on the breakwater.
